January – week 3

scent of spring…

the cat lifts her nose

to the sky

~

in the shadows

of wintering shrubs

the first tender shoots…

falling in love

when I said never again

~

brushing away

the remains of autumn

unveiling

the beginnings

of spring

~

in tubs and baskets

on the flower stall

forced spring bulbs…

I always had to ask

if you loved me

~

fire in her belly

and on her crest…

a goldcrest

stands her ground

amongst blackbirds

~

a drop

from the cauldron

of inspiration…

branch to branch, between her thoughts

a dancing beam of light

~

beauty in everyday life..

all the yellows

of a blue tit

~

your lunchtime text

flurries of sparrows

in sunlit puddles
