May – week 1

white as new snow

three egrets wade further

into the lake

~

my clumsiness with chopsticks the egret’s feast

~

midday heat

warbler song seeps

from the reeds

~

sultry blue

the hum of words

in the reeds

on the wings of swallows

a poet’s dreams

~

heavy rain —

still the blue tit

flies back and forth

to build

her nest

~

Monet fills

the canvas of my day…

laburnum

in full bloom,

these eyes blurred with tears

~

May sun

a tern offers his mate

a fish

~

tilde

the stillness paints

a lapwing ~

nothing stirs

but its crest

~
