May – week 1

white as new snow

three egrets wade further

into the lake

my clumsiness with chopsticks the egret’s feast

midday heat

warbler song seeps

from the reeds

sultry blue

the hum of words

in the reeds

on the wings of swallows

a poet’s dreams

heavy rain —

still the blue tit

flies back and forth

to build

her nest

Monet fills

the canvas of my day…

in full bloom,

these eyes blurred with tears

May sun

a tern offers his mate

a fish

the stillness paints

a lapwing ~

nothing stirs

but its crest
