May – week 4

woodland walk ~

trees tiger~striped

in golden sunrise

~

mist on the mirror

this path we walk…

my fingers trace

a memory of bluebells

and wild garlic

~

just for a moment

the world is softened

by dreams ~

a baby bird

sleeps in the lilacs

~

in a blue dress

blowing dandelion clocks,

summer sky…

we pick cotton daydreams

from passing clouds

~

even the smallest

barest tree

can hold

its boughs

out to a woodpecker

~

in sumi-e ink

the flow of a moment

scarlet and black

two woodpeckers

and a clean sheet of sky

~

why can’t it always

be this simple?..

a treecreeper

creeps

up a tree

~

red peony…

wiping if only

from my lips

~
