June – week 2

singing proudly

from his gutter nest —

tree sparrow

~

snippets

of faded newsprint dreams

in and out of the hedgerows

a poem written

on a sparrow’s wing

~

flame of red campion

from a chasm in the cliffs

a puffin emerges

~

chopsticks

in her party hair…

the swallow’s tail

~

gannets soar…

the sea and sky

compare blues

~

some moments

so sublime

they never were…

the wafer of blue

between sky and sea

~

jackdaws patrol —

whatever happens

the kittiwakes

sit tight

to protect their eggs

~

I would walk again

the eggshell path

of my life

to feel this wind

lifting my wings

~

clifftop nests

downy chicks peep

from the guillemot’s breast

~

from a ledge of sky

I watch the skimming stones

of your words

casting

full-circle rainbows

~
