June – week 4/July – week 1

after the rain

the scars on the leaves

made by snails

~

still I hide them

once raw weals now silver-pale…

at the landfill

warblers and whitethroats

sing nature back home

~

blue between clouds

swifts spiral

after insects

~

a lone swift

between dust clouds

and blue marble…

a scalpel

in the sculptor’s hand

~

4 a.m…

the eerie call

of a peregrine

~

a long life

lived well…

smoke trail

a crane drifts by

the viewfinder of a dream

~

late summer

one red berry

on the bramble bush

~

what of woman

if man’s reach should exceed

his grasp?…

come harvest, I’ll stain my lips

with a blackberry moon

~
