August – week 3

just to remind us

he’s not gone yet

a chiffchaff

picks insects

from the washing line

~

wickerwork

light through the pines

the chiffchaff’s song

~

August rain —

one last duckling

left on the lake

~

dawn rain…

between two worlds

I listen

for words

that fell in the night

~

unpredictable nature —

looking for dippers

seeing a heron

~

at the hearth

of this ancient sky

with ash

on her fingers…

the heron’s flight

~
